General Position Summary

The Senior Program Officer – Implementation is responsible for leading and managing the execution of programmatic activities on the ground, ensuring high-quality implementation aligned with organizational goals, donor expectations, and stakeholder needs. This role provides technical oversight, coordinates with partners and field teams, and monitors performance to drive impact, scale, and sustainability of interventions.

Position Summary

The Senior Implementation Officer – Operations is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing the day-to-day operational activities of the School Meal Program at SMP Central Kitchen. This includes supply chain management, logistics, quality assurance, and implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) across schools. The role ensures timely and efficient delivery of meals to students in compliance with safety, nutritional, and programmatic standards

Essential Job Function

Program Implementation & Management

1. Operational Planning & Implementation

  • Develop and implement operational strategies for the efficient distribution of school meals.
  • Coordinate daily logistics related to food receiving, storage, transportation, and delivery to schools.
  • Monitor implementation across targeted areas/schools to ensure compliance with program guidelines and timelines.
  • Coordinate with Cooks, Packaging Staff and Kitchen Supervisors to ensure smoot running of entire operations.

2. Supply Chain & Vendor Management

  • Oversee the transparency, cost-effectiveness, and quality for SMP.
  • Manage and maintain high standards of coordination with all operations departments.
  • Track inventory and flows to minimize food waste and disruptions.

3. Monitoring & Quality Assurance

  • Conduct regular assessment to assess SMP Central Kitchen for operational effectiveness and food safety standards.
  • Address operational issues, such as delivery delays or quality complaints, in a timely manner.
  • Ensure adherence to hygiene, nutritional, and storage standards across all levels.
  • Keep close coordination with Food Safety and Quality Assurance department.

4. Data Management & Reporting

  • Maintain records of deliveries, food consumption, wastage, and incident reports.
  • Generate regular operational reports to inform program decisions.
  • Support in the development and use of digital tools for real-time monitoring and data collection. 

5. Coordination & Capacity Building

  • Collaborate with school staff, SMP operations units, and SIF Base Office Quetta.
  • Train school personnel and local partners in food handling, storage, and distribution best practices.
  • Lead coordination meetings with stakeholders to review progress and resolve bottlenecks.
  • Any task assigned by the supervisor.
