The Aga Khan Foundation (AKF), an agency of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN), is a private, non-denominational, international development agency established in 1967. The Aga Khan Foundation (Pakistan) [AKF(P)] is seeking high calibre professional for the position of PILOT at its helicopter wing based in Islamabad:

The incumbent will provide report and support to the Chief Pilot (CP) Helicopter Wing with the execution of sorties to remote areas of Gilgit-Baltistan and Chitral. Candidates must have excellent knowledge and understanding of the terrain, flying conditions and challenges when operating in mountain areas of Pakistan.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct safe and efficient VFR flight operations mostly in the mountainous (north) region of Pakistan
  • Perform pre-flight planning, including weather assessments, route selection, and fuel calculations.
  • Conduct pre-flight, in-flight, and post-flight checks in accordance with company procedures.
  • Maintain accurate flight records, logs, and reports.
  • Pass theoretical and practical EASA exams within a certain time period to be able to fly with our organization.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements (PCAA /EASA, etc.).
  • Participate in training, safety briefings, and company audits as required.
  • Communicate effectively with ground operations, air traffic control, and other crew members.
  • Uphold a culture of safety, professionalism, and continuous improvement.

Requirements:

  • Rotary wing experience of 1500 hours or more (accident free). Preference would be given to incumbents having twin engine experience of Glass Cockpit or have past experience of flying AW139 helicopters.
  • Experience of VVIP, international and domestic missions will be preferred.
  • ATPL(H) license /written examination cleared (including Helicopter Paper).
  • Holding a Valid Class-I Medical Certificate by Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority.
  • Having English proficiency level 5or 6.
  • Minimum of 500 PIC time on AW139 (preferred).
  • Proven VFR flight experience in mountains/North of Pakistan (preferred).
  • Excellent CRM and communication skills

 Ineligibility:

  • Pilots retired prematurely due to own fault/dismissed from Defence/Civil service on disciplinary grounds or inefficiency.
  • Pilots having record of major accident/incident relating Aircraft/Helicopter or poor safety records.
  • Working Conditions:
  • Variable work schedule; may include weekends, holidays, and on-call duties.
  • Travel local and abroad for training or flying duties.
  • Motivated to undergo further qualifications as per company requirement.

Required Qualifications

  • Pakistani national possessing ATPL(H) license with a minimum 05 of years flying experience. Incumbent should be less than 55 years as of December 20, 2025 and would be expected to undertake extensive travel to the areas highlighted above.
